NFS Porsche - Tips and Tricks
Tips and tricks for NFS Porsche!!

Slalom Driving | SkidPad Driving | Open Road Driving

Slalom Driving
There are many missions in Factory Driver mode which require you to perform slalom style driving around cones. These missions are a true test of precision driving in high-pressure circumstances. You must keep the speed up while maintaining control to weave through the slalom course without hitting any cones. Heavy-footed driving will make you miss corners and lose precious time, so be sure to master braking and cornering techniques to be a successful Factory Driver.

  • When approching a cone, let off the gas and begin to turn before the cone. Once you pass the cone and straighern out again, get back on the gas and accelerate to the next one. Don't accelerate too early in the turn or you'll spin out
  • Don't Avoid the hit any cones. Hitting the cones at these will add time to your total and makes it harder to reach your Goal Time.
  • Speed up! If you drive too slowly, you will not complete the course in time.

SkidPad Driving
While testing cars on the Weissach Skidpad you will experience a wide range of driving conditions, from hairpin corners and 360 power slides to high-speed cornering tests.

  • 360 Spins -- As you enter the cones, release the gas, hit the Emergency Brake and turn to the right. Hold down the Emergency Brake and keep turning right until you are about 3/4 of the way through the spin, then release the Emergency Brake. Finally, turn to the left to straighten yourself our while accelarating out of the spin. Remember that all spins must be performed to the right (clockwise)
  • Hairpin corners -- When approaching a hairpin corner, ease off on the gas and apply the brakes, while maintaining a straight line. Turn through the corner as tightly as posibble, staying close to the cone. When you see your next arror, hit the gas and head for the next corner.
  • 90-Degree Corners -- When approaching a 90-degree turn, ease off of the gas. Take the turn wide and begin accelerating halfway through the turn, then line up with the next arror and keep driving.

Open Road Driving
When driving Porsches on the open road there are many obstacles to watch out for, including traffic, cops, other factory drivers, and the track itself. Make sure you don't damage your car by hitting one of the obstacles or sideswiping a hill. The cost of fixing a damaged Porsche is remarkably high! Here are some tips to help you get through the course with minimal damage.

TRAFFIC

  • Traffic drives on the right-hand side of the road, so if you are coming around a blind corner of jump, stay in the right-hand lane to lessen your chances of a head-on collision.
  • Traffic will sometimes swerve if you surprise them. Be sure to give them plenty of room when passing
  • Be careful when driving with the pedal to the metal. You never know what's waiting around the next corner and you'll need time to react to any traffic.

    COPS

  • Try to dodge cops by taking last minute corners or performing sudden braking and accelerating techniques. The Emergency Brake is key for any sudden turns.
  • Force cops into obstacles, other cars, or even other cops.
  • In some situations, you will have a car that is faster than the cop's cruiser. When this is the case, try and outrun them..., if you're feeling lucky.

    TRACKS

  • Know the track. You can avoid damagin your car if you know what's around the corner. Plus, being able to anticipate the hazardous sections of a track will gives you an advantage over the competition every time.
  • Make sure you know where the shortcuts are. Cops and traffic don't appear on some shortcuts. This makes it easier to complete a mission and also saves you time.
